Fancy yourself as a photographer? Want to win some money? The Lake District Guide photographic competition has been launched with even more prize money than the first year.

Photographers are welcome to send in as many pictures as they want, with each one standing an equal chance of winning a share of the £1000 prize money.

"Our aim is to promote high quality photography that reflects any aspect of Lakeland life - scenery, people, places, activities, food, environment - and introduce this work to a wider audience through our website", the orgranisers told Photographypress.

All entries should be submitted in jpeg or bmp format to competitions@lake-district-guides.co.uk before September 30 2007.

Winners will be announced within a week of the closing date.
