Viveza plug-in for Aperture released

Should brighten things up

NEWS: 8 May 2008 13:46 GMT by Verity Burns

Nik Software have released a Viveza plug-in for Apple's photo editing and management software, Aperture 2.1.

The Viveza plug-in will allow Aperture users to selectively control light and colour in images without having to leave Aperture.

"Aperture has been designed to put professional-level tools into the hands of everyone who is passionate about their photographs", said Rob Schoeben, Apple’s vice president of Applications Product Marketing.

"Viveza perfectly complements Aperture by enabling photographers to make localized enhancements to brightness, contrast, or colour."

To make these enhancements, users simply place U Point powered Control Points directly on to colours or objects in photographs, such as sky, skin or grass.

They can then make targeted adjustments to an image within Aperture using simple sliders.

Current owners of Viveza for Photoshop can get a free update to include the Aperture compatibility, otherwise Viveza costs $249.95 (about £127) and is available online now from Nik Software's website.

Alternatively boxed versions will be available in shops worldwide from 1 June.

If you fancy trying before you buy, you can also get a free 15-day trial copy from the website. What are you waiting for?
