New Two Pilots photo correction software released

As Plug-in or standalone software - your choice

NEWS: 16 May 2008 14:47 GMT by Verity Burns

Two Pilots have released new versions of their digital photo correction software.

Beauty Pilot, MakeUp Pilot, Pet Eye Pilot, Retouch Pilot, and Wire Pilot have all been updated and re-released. You can now install each of them as a plug-in into your preferred photo editor, like Photoshop, or use them as a standalone program on their own - it's your choice.

So what do each of them do? Deep breath...

Beauty Pilot helps conceal imperfections in pictures and bring out the best in them, particularly women's portraits, while MakeUp Pilot is similar but almost like a cosmetic kit built into your computer that can erase any spots or marks on the skin.

Perspective Pilot allows you to correct linear perspective on urban landscape photos by just setting a line.

Wire Pilot helps you to retouch linear objects like wires, posts, and antennas to enhance outdoor scenes. By applying a smart patch from one area of an image to another, you can also delete any unwanted objects involving a complex background.

Ever taken a picture of your cat or dog and had them look like the devil incarnate? Pet Eye Pilot can help you get rid of that red eye effect and make them look the perfect pet. Of course, it works on human portraits as well.

And finally, Retouch Pilot restores scanned old photos by removing any defects that have arisen from long-term storage, such as stains, scratches and overall wear and tear.

The program works on most Windows platforms and prices range from $29.95 to $49.95 (about £15-25). They can be downloaded from the Two Pilots website.
