Aiptek introduce HD-recording AHD Z500 camcorder

With a pretty friendly price tag

NEWS: 4 June 2008 20:15 GMT by Verity Burns

Aiptek have introduced a new HD recording camcorder to the market - the AHD Z500 Plus camcorder. And the price tag won't hurt too much either.

At just £249.99, you get a fair bit of camcorder for your buck. It has 1080p HD recording and 60fps capture in 720p. This way you can choose between smooth recording of fast-moving objects, or the option of lifelike video with the 1080p capability.

The 3x optical zoom with auto focus is accompanied by a Macro mode to ensure both distant and close-up subjects are captured in equal clarity. With a 5-megapixel CMOS sensor, the Aiptek AHD Z500 Plus provides high quality video recording and still images up to 8 mega pixels.

With a storage capacity of up to 32GB via SDHC card the AHD Z500 Plus is capable of storing up to 8 hours of 1080p high definition video or up to 4,000 jpeg images.

In addition to the standard functions for image and video capture such as red eye reduction, flash for still images and self timer, the AHD Z500 Plus offers five different white balance modes, a night mode to enhance video captured in low light and three modes (normal, black and white and classic) for stills photography.

And for those worried about the look of it all, it doesn't disappoint there either. Measuring just 113 x 70 x 33mm, the AHD Z500 Plus fits can fit easily into your pocket, glove compartment or flight bag so you can carry it with you wherever you go, and never have to miss one of those "I wish I had a camera" moments.

The AIPTEK AHD Z500 Plus will be widely available through retail and e-tail from July 2008 at an SRP of £249.99.
