Kodak introduces the EasyShare Z1015 IS camera

Takes HD images and video

NEWS: 10 July 2008 10:41 GMT by Verity Burns

As part of its mass unveiling of new high-definition products, Kodak has announced its new high-zoom EasyShare Z1015 IS digital camera.

Boasting 10-megapixels, 15x optical zoom and a 28mm lens, this camera will allow users to snap both long distances and wide-angle shots.

The image quality on the Z1015 IS is top notch too, as it is able to take both HD still images at 16:9 aspect ration and HD video (720p at 30fps). And of course, you can check all of this out on the camera's 3-inch LCD screen.

Another feature to the Z1015 IS is the smart capture technology, which detects the particular scene being shot and automatically adjusts the camera's settings to capture the best still images possible.

For example, for greater detail in both highlight and shadow areas, the camera, while set in smart capture mode, will automatically expose the image using Kodak Perfect Touch processing. Clever stuff.

With a picture-capture speed of <0.2 seconds, optical image stabilisation, face detection and high ISO settings (up to 6400), the Z1015 IS ensures you capture brighter, clearer shots in low-light or fast-action situations. Whether you choose auto-mode or manually altering the camera's settings is up to you.

The camera should be available from October and will be priced at £199.99.
