Samsung's new L201 digital camera is ultra-compact but still offers a 10.2 megapixel sensor, 3x optical zoom lens and Intelligent 2.7 inch LCD screen.

Additional features include Face Detection technology and Auto Contrast Balance which will correct shadows in back-lit conditions "making it perfect for taking pictures in a variety of conditions", claims the manufacturer.

The L201 also boasts Digital Image Stabilisation, which helps compensate unwanted camera movement and subject blur.

The L201 also features an MJPEG VGA 30 fps movie recording mode, which lets users pause and zoom during recording; auto red eye fix; and an in-camera rechargeable battery system.

The camera comes in black and silver as well as three eye-catching new colours – pink, turquoise and lime green, and will have a £129 price tag when it arrives in August.
